DCE will change field measurements from 2006
As of 2006, measurements for the Drum Corps Europe contest field will be changed. This will entail new distances for the hash marks and a widening of the staging area with respect to the present situation.
The DCE field hash marks currently differ from those such as used by our colleagues at DCI. This is a good reason for DCE to bring its hash mark distances in line with the international norm ('US College Football Field'). At present, hash marks in the field are placed at a distance of 16 metres from the front and rear lines. In the new situation, this will change to 18.28 metres, and the rear line will be moved back slightly by 80 centimetres.
Changes will also be made to the staging area, which currently lies between the 35 yard lines. As of 2006, this area will be located between the 0 yard lines, covering the entire width in front of the front line.
