Dozens of new judges are waiting to make their appearance in the competition of Drum Corps International. This is according to Judge Administrator John Phillips in a video interview on the DCI website.
In the past year, training sessions have started with nearly 40 candidates. About half did not make it, but the other 20 have been prepared to judge both the musical and visual captions next summer. Phillips says that he is happy and excited with the large number of new colleagues.
The judging system of Drum Corps International has undergone several changes in recent years. For example, Music Effect and Visual Effects merged into a single Effect component, and the Percussion caption is judged by two judges. The entire interview with John Phillips can be watched below.
