Kidsgrove Scouts have new truck
The Kidsgrove Scouts have a new equipment truck for the 2005 season. The vehicle, carrying the Scouts' 'fleur-de-lis' logo on all sides, truly needed a big 'face-lift' before it was ready to hit the road.
In early November 2004, a number of parents and staff jumped into a convoy of cars to go and have a look at the prospective new truck. The reaction was unanimous: what a job it would be to get it on the road, let alone modified to the specific requirements of the corps.
The team was put together and an amazing amount of time and effort was dedicated to the cause by many people. Weekends, weeknights and even time off work was taken, to get the job done.
The truck passed its MOT in April, and the next milestone was to modify the truck to the specific requirements of the corps and then finally get it sprayed with the famous 'fleus-de-li' present. All this seemed to be quite a way off but the truck team have come through with flying colours and the truck is now ready for the 2005 competitive season.
