DCE Competition Manual 6.2 online
The DCE Competition Manual 6.2 can now be found on the website. There are no changes to the previous manual (version 6.1) with regard to the contest rules. However, two changes have been made to the judges section. These changes were determined during the DCE Judges Committee meeting held the day after the DCE European Championships 2006 in Rotterdam.
The training of the members will now be considered for all sections judged on the field (Field Visual, Field Brass and Field Percussion) as well as the Color Guard. The new criterion 'Training & Compatibility' has therefore been added to the judging sheets.
"We noticed this year that members sometimes lack sufficient training to be able to present the program well", explains judges coordinator, Adriaan de Kruiff. "This is why we will be paying more attention this year to whether the participants are receiving enough training."
Additionally, a slight change has been made to the description in box 4 for the 'Musicality' aspect of the Ensemble Music component. Adriaan de Kruiff says, "The description it contained was actually a bit too strict. It comes down to the fact that the corps had to demonstrate a consistently good quality, whereas the occasional lapse is now also accepted."
The DCE Competition Manual includes the DCE rules, an explanation of the judging system, the judging philosophy, and the boxes per section. The new manual can be downloaded from the competition page. Please contact Adriaan de Kruiff if you have any questions.
