Nexus to compete in DCN contest
Nexus Drum & Bugle Corps from Sandy in Bedfordshire will be making their first trip to mainland Europe in 2012 to compete in the Drum Corps Netherlands contest in Huizen - The Netherlands on Saturday 23rd June. Nexus Drum & Bugle Corps from Sandy in Bedfordshire will be making their first trip to mainland Europe in 2012 to compete in the Drum Corps Netherlands contest in Huizen - The Netherlands on Saturday 23rd June.
The corps, which was formed in 2010 and were the BYBA 2010 Division 3 league & Nationals champions and were 2nd in BYBA Associate Class and 7th in DCUK Open class in 2011, will be debuting their 2012 production 'iCorps - We've Got an App For That?' at the Dutch show. Based on the music of artists such as Lady Gaga and Beyoncé as well as including the imagery and sounds of Steve Jobs and even Angry Birds, the show looks at the communication revolution that has changed our lives: the smart phone.
The staff and members are very much looking forward to their first foray into European competition and meeting up with corps from both The Netherlands and Germany in Huizen. Nexus will also be primarily competing on the DCUK circuit for the rest of the 2012 season as well as their home BYBA show at Biggleswade in September.
