Southern Aurora launches new website
Southern Aurora has announced the launch of their new website, the new site is part of the current development continuing at Aurora, and encompasses the wider activity base that they are pursuing. The site will continue to be developed after its initial launch.
The next few weeks will see another two new additions to the Aurora stable, next Monday sees the official launch of our frontline ensemble, under the guidance of Lynnette Prigmore, this activity is aimed at experienced pit players looking to continue to use and advance their skills and will be open to all ages.
The following Thursday 9th November will see the launch of their academy; this will replace the cadet corps which ceased in 2003. The academy will be directed by Dean Rose. The aim of the academy will be two fold, to take on young members with no previous experience, and also older members with some musical experience who wish to hone their skills to drum corps.
These two new activities added to their main corps and winter drumline will strengthen Southern Aurora's position as a provider of music and dance education in the south east. They will also be striving to build partnerships and relationships with local schools and musical organisations of which news will follow.
As part of these changes Aurora are currently seeking a brass instructor to head up the wind section. As caption head you will not only control and organise the main brass line, but also have overall responsibility for the academy wind. Anyone interested should e-mail their details to director@southernaurora.org.uk.
