Kidsgrove Scouts publish 2012 DCA tour schedule
After their successful DCA tour in 2010, the Kidsgrove Scouts have published the provisional plans for the 2012 tour. The 2012 DCA World Championship finals will take place at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis - Maryland.
Annapolis is only 35 miles away from the Capital of the USA, Washington DC. The provisional plan is for the corps to base itself in Washington DC for week one of the tour and then to move into Annapolis for the second week. During the second week there are many plans to share wonderful experiences with the DCA community similar to how the corps did in Rochester in 2010. The full schedule can be downloaded from www.kidsgrovescouts.com.
As in 2010 the Kidsgrove Scouts will seek the services of very experienced USA staff members, some staff members have already confirmed, others are in the pipeline. It is expected that the lineup for 2012 will be a very special one.
Interest in the 2012 tour has already been considerable; they are hoping to march the maximum DCA corps size of 128 members. The provisional break down of this is 68 horns (21 trumpets, 15 mellos, 14 baritones, 6 euphoniumss, 12 tubas), 18 drums (9 snares, 4 tenors, 5 bass drums), 12 frontline, 28 guard and 2 drum majors.
The above numbers can be flexible depending on interest, 2011 members are guaranteed a spot and there are a number of 2010/2009 members who have indicated their intentions to march. The Scouts may very well find themselves in a situation where the corps is full as they start 2012 rehearsals at the backend of 2011.
