Crown comes first on Saturday, fourth on Sunday
The scores and rankings of the first weekend of the Drum Corps International competition have been very interesting indeed. Carolina Crown managed to come first on Saturday in Saginaw, Texas, but one day later in Austin they dropped to fourth place, with four full points less.
Especially on the Color Guard and Ensemble Music captions, there were big differences. On Color Guard, Crown placed second on Saturday, but ended fifth on Sunday. In Ensemble Music, the corps came first in the Music Ensemble caption on Saturday, but they dropped to sixth place on Sunday.
The Cavaliers came second on Saturday and took the lead on Sunday. Of the entire top eight, only Phantom Regiment and the Blue Stars improved their scores between Saturday and Sunday. The scores were announced on Monday night during the '2011 Tour Premiere'.
