Parlour Sessions planned for DCE Certified Shows
For the last two years, as part of the judges pre-briefing event to a DCE certified contest, a Parlour Session is held where a judge will research a relevant topic and lead a discussion. Instructors and designers are welcome to attend this part of the briefing.
The session usually commences 75 minutes for the start of a contest. "I am aware that most of your are busily preparing for your own performances," says DCE Adjudication Manager Douglas Caldwell. "But I welcome your attendance if able to do so." Corps that want to be represented at the Parlour Sessions are requested to give the Adjudication Manager an approximate indication of numbers (douglas@drumcorpseurope.org).
The first four sessions are as follows:
DCN contest 28th May 2011
Electronics - In Drum Corps!
Facilitated by Erwin van Gemert
DCN contest 25th June 2011
Effect - The Aesthetic Concept
Facilitated by Theo van den Elshout
DCUK contest 3rd July
Sampling All Elements on First Read
Facilitated by Ivan Balchin
DCUK contest 17th July
