For veterans in the drum corps world, names like the 1st Canadian Regiment, The Edmonton Crusaders Marching Band, The Edmonton Strutters Drum Corps and Fusion Drum & Bugle Corps will no doubt ring a bell. According to program director Steve McConnell from Impact, the cooperation with Lions Clubs is great. "They are a great organisation that does a lot of good not just in our community, but world-wide", says McConnell. "Together we can create a truly special experience for young people in Edmonton and the surrounding region."
Impact is already active in the colour guard circuit. In the near future, they will start up music lessons for brass and percussion. Students will start with a drumline programme and brass ensemble. This should subsequently lead to a corps that will participate in the World Class of Drum Corps International.
