First IPE contest will take place this Sunday
The first contest of the European indoor percussion units will take place this Sunday in Belgium. Ten units from four countries will come together in Tournai for the start of the 2011 season of Indoor Percussion Europe.
It will be full house in Tournai, with units from the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UK. "It will be a great start to the competition", says Erwin van Gemert from IPE. "It's fantastic to welcome as many as ten groups to the first show. We look forward to a great season."
European X (Amersfoort), The Senators (Eastleigh), DrumSpirit (Dadizele), Unik Star (Hellemmes) and DNG (Dottignies) will make their appearance in the International Percussion Class. New Event Corps (Wavrechain) and Le Symphonic (Denain) are entering the European Marching Class, and Trommelgroep West-Nederland (Leiden), New Spirit (Hem) and Music Black Show (La Gorgue) will be represented in the Concert Class.
Two weeks ago, IPE hosted a 'Kick Off' event. A TV item about the event was broadcast on the television channel Focus - WTV. The item can be viewed online here (Dutch language).
