To achieve this, the board has presented a 'vision plan'. Time, patience and a consistent policy are needed to reach this goal, says President Gerard Eijlers.
Although the rumours that Beatrix is having a difficult time are not true, the Beatrix Chairman understands why the rumours are circulating. "Two sixth places in a row is not where we want to be", acknowledges Eijlers. "On the other hand, the competition has become much stronger in recent years, so the phrase 'to stand still is to move backwards' literally applies."
The corps from Hilversum will continue work on improving their standard. The aim of the vision plan is to raise Beatrix and Jong Beatrix to a higher level, both musically and visually. The advice of in-house arranger Rob Balfoort is being followed and developed further by the staff in the rehearsal programme.
Succesful recruitment of Beatrix and Jong Beatrix has put the first step to growth. The pit, field percussion and guard sections of Beatrix are almost at full capacity. And although there are still seceral free spots for the horn line, that group is also growing.
