Sponsors speak out (2)
This year, the DCE European Championships can count on strong support from their sponsors. Who are these companies who are supporting our hobby so enthusiastically? Adams, de Hypotheker and Marchingshop introduce themselves.
ADAMS
For many years, Adams has been an established name in the music world. Founder Andre Adams, trumpeter at the St. Michaël of Thorn harmony and musician with the genius fanfare corps, began his career as a repairman of wind instruments, for which he trained in Brussels (B) and Nauheim (D). When he successfully completed his training, he started repairing instruments in his parents' shed as a small independent. During the repair work, the question of whether he could sell instruments soon came up. The customers of Adams, mainly bands and musicians, felt that a place where instruments were repaired should also sell instruments. This led to the establishment of the Thorner music shop, Muziekcentrale Adams, in 1970.
The current Adams Musical Instruments manufactures classical percussion instruments and in the last five years has also begun to create handmade wind instruments. The company fits in perfectly with the musicians and spectators from the DCE European Championships and will of course have its own stall in Kerkrade.
DE HYPOTHEKER
At first glance it is perhaps the odd one out, but DCE is very pleased that a company not directly affiliated with the music would sponsor the DCE European Championships. "We sponsor this event because we consider it important that such a unique event in the Netherlands continues to exist," says Pieter Wijma from De Hypotheker.
De Hypotheker is the leading provider of objective advice and guidance on important financial decisions. Getting the most out of your financial and tax options is something we all want. But before you can organise your financial affairs, you should consider, arrange and decide. Take the mortgage alone. What do I want and what can I afford? Who should I believe? And how many different mortgages are there? De Hypotheker has offices throughout the country where you can go for advice.
MARCHINGSHOP
Marchingshop is a new young company founded by a real drum corps man. "The name says it all, we can provide anything in the field of marching," says Remco Groenewegen from Marchingshop. "From shoes to hats, from sticks to a tuba, from guard gloves to full uniforms... We are independent and can deliver virtually any brand by many dealerships and now also provide our own imports and exports. We distinguish ourselves from the mainstream music business by focusing entirely on marching."
The company does not (yet) have a stall, but are pleased to be linked to DCE. "The DCE European Championships are an important part for many of our customers," says Groenewegen. "We also want to support the DCE European Championships to allow many current and future members and audience members to enjoy this great hobby."
