Change of direction for Northern Star in 2005
The management and staff of the Northern Star Group are pleased to announce a change of direction for the corps in 2005. After many meetings and discussions the corps has decided to concentrate on the DCE circuit as well as exploring new avenues of performance.
Star will perform at three DCE shows as well as a week long tour of France in mid July. On top of this they are working closely with agencies to secure several more events throughout the UK.
The most important reason for Northern Star taking this decision was to create the opportunity and time to promote the organisation and focus on other performace opportunities. Over the next year Northern Star will be working very hard to secure a strong future for the corps with the introduction of a second unit aimed at local youth. The organisation will be exploring other areas of performance other than competition.
2005 is set to be a very exciting year indeed with rehearsals well underway on our 2005 program 'Texture, Melody and Rhythm'. This will be an experience of a lifetime for the Northern Star members, and give them an opportunity to enjoy a variety of diverse performance opportunities as well as seeing many new places and meeting new friends along the way.
The corps fully intends to return to the UK circuit in the future and wishes all corps and bands the very best for the 2005 season.
