Bruce Vrancken appointed Adjudication Manager
Drum Corps Europe has appointed Bruce Vrancken as the new DCE Adjudication Manager. Bruce will coordinate all judging matters as part of the DCE management team.
Bruce succeeds Tony Mackenzie-Jones in the role of Adjudication Manager. "Bruce has been a long time talented and respected DCE judge", DCE chairman Marcel Matthijsse said. "He's got what it takes to do this job. We are happy that Bruce accepted his new role."
Bruce studied at the conservatory of Oostende in Belgium, the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the conservatory in The Hague - The Netherlands. He has been a musician, instructor and arranger for many symphonic orchestras, brass bands, indoor percussion units, show bands and drum & bugle corps. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 he was a member of the Blue Devils front ensemble.
Currently Bruce drums in a rock & roll band, teaches a harmonic orchestra in Bruges - Belgium, and plays in several brass bands. He is also a clinican and arranger for InCorps.
Bruce is excited about his new job. "It is a true honour", Bruce said. "We will work hard to raise the standard of the DCE judging organisation even higher in the coming years. I'm proud that I can help with that process in my new role as the DCE Adjudication Manager."
Due to health problems, Tony Mackenzie-Jones has stepped down. Drum Corps Europe would like to thank Tony for his hard work and his passion during his time in the DCE management team and as the coordinator of the judges organisation. Tony, thank you for everything!
