Yokohama Scouts win fourth Drum Corps Japan title
The visual ingenious presented by both the other corps at the Drum Corps Japan Championships could not match the size and cleanliness of the Yokohama Scouts. With their show titled 'The Velocity', the Scouts combined both a well written drill with a solid music book on all ends to give them their fourth championships Division I title and first in three years.
The Yokohama Scouts scored 91.75 points, and also earned the high percussion, visual, color guard and general effect awards. The Inspires became second (88.90) with their show 'Nuevo Ritmo', and The Jokers ended in third place (82.95) performing a show called 'Crossroads'. Tokyo Phoenix topped Division II and Fukushima Sound Dream won the Any Key Division.
Drum Corps Japan will host its annual Individual and Ensemble contest on Sunday, February 8, at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium. More information and recaps are available at www.dcjpn.org.
