DCUK 09 registrations open on 5th January
At 10 am on Monday 5th January registration will open for the 2009 British Drum Corps season. This year registration will only be available via an on-line form available at the DCUK website. The order of performance at 2009 contests will be determined by the order in which registrations are received and also by the scores obtained during the season. For example: Open and Junior Class at the first contest - the last corps to perform will be the first Corps to register whilst the first corps to perform will be the corps that registered last.
Open and Junior Class at the 2nd and subsequent contests (including Championships prelims for Open Class and Championships Finals for Junior Class) - corps which have already competed at a previous contest will perform last in the order of their previous highest score with the final corps to perform being the corps with the highest score from all previous contests. Prior to this the remaining corps will perform in the order in which they registered.
At Championships Finals the Open Class corps will be split into two classes (Open Class and A Class) and the order in each class will be determined by the scores obtained during the Prelims event earlier in the day. Details of how the split will be determined will be announced prior to the first contest of the season.
The venues for the 2009 contests will be Saturday 11th July - Arklow, Co. Wicklow - Ireland (in association with IMBA), Sunday 19th July - Victoria Park - Warrington, Sunday 6th September - Eastleigh Football Club - Eastleigh - Hampshire, and as already announced: Saturday 19th September - 30th British Drum Corps Championships - Northwich Victoria FC
