Clinic week at the Field Band Foundation in Durban
More than 70 participants from all Fieldbands will take part in the National Clinic week in Durban (Soth Africa) from December 7 through 14 2008. Members are from all parts of South Africa and have been selected carefully. All of them are instructors and valuable members with talent and vision.
With this initiative the Field Band Foundation is investing in the future and improving the quality of performance of the various Fieldbands. The aquired knowledge during the clinic week will be passed on directly to every local band.
An ambitious and intensive programme has been prepared for the clinic week. Clinicians from Norway will be teaching brass and music theory. Their trip to South Africa has been made possible thanks to a cooperation with the Norwegian Music Federation (NMF). Vlamo vzw is adding another page to their exchange programme with South Africa as well and is sending three instructors to Durban.
The Flemish instructors will be teaching marching percussion, showdesign and marching & manoeuvring. This has been made possible thanks to a special grant from the Ministry of Cultural Afaairs of the Flemish Government.
