Following phone discussions and email exchanges, George Hopkins, the Director of the Cadets, has announced that Tom Aungst and Neil Larrivee have both tendered their resignations from the Cadets' design and instructional team. Although both resigned within hours of each other, Hopkins made clear that these were two different situations.

The father of two boys, ages 13 and 5, Aungst intends to dedicate more time to his family. "There are so many things I would like to do with my family. Being able to spend more time with them at these ages and my wife is important to me", Aungst said. "I have missed a lot of their activities because I have always been away during the summer." Aungst has been affiliated with the Cadets for 27-years.

On Wednesday morning, after a great career with the Cadets as the Front Ensemble Arranger, Neil Larrivee resigned his position with the corps via email. "As I believe he told you, I too will be stepping down. I am thankful for my time with the Cadets. The great times are countless and I will forever be better for the experience", said Larrivee. "Count on me to remain fond of the Cadets and to look forward to seeing you all down the road as a former team member, fan and part of a sponsorship team at Vic Firth."

As for the future, corps director George Hopkins of The Cadets commented that plans are in place and that an official announcement will be made Monday morning.
