Drumcorps.org.uk breaks records in September
September 2007 was another record month for the DCE website. Drumcorps.org.uk (together with the other language versions) was visited more than 56,000 times in September. This is 4,000 more visits than in the same month last year. The live webcast during the DCE Championships was a hit with more than 1000 viewers.
In one month's time, 316,000 pages were requested (not including the webcast), which is an average of around 10,500 per day. The site did well not only in September: since January, drumcorps.org.uk has already had 376,000 visits, amounting to no less than 1.8 million requested pages.
On the day of the DCE Championships, the server had to process a significant amount of data traffic because of the live webcast, which was viewed en masse. The 1000 and more viewers watched the live webcam of the Sparta Stadium for an average of one and a half hours.
