WIK and Kameleon Percussie top Flemish contests
Showkorps WIK from Ostend has topped the show contest of the Flemish music organization Vlamo in Wevelgem - Belgium yesterday. The corps scored 90.3%. At the same moment, another Vlamo contest was run in Aartselaar - Belgium. Kameleon Percussie took top honors there with a score of 90%.
Belgian fans of marching music had to make a tough decision yesterday: attending the show contest in Wevelgem, or the concert contest in Aartselaar. Both events were run by Vlamo. WIK entered the show in Wevelgem for the first time and won the contest with only a few tenths ahead of Drum Spirit from Dadizele (90.1%). Last year's champion Calypso from Zwevegem ended up third (89.3%).
Kameleon Percussie from Ostend were the only competitors in the 'Superior Division' in Aartselaar. The drumline managed to reach 90% for the second year in a row. (Source: corpsandband.be)
