Jubal tops DCE show Dordrecht
Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps has topped the second DCE show in Dordrecht - The Netherlands. Juliana came in second. It was a hot night with a lot of great shows.
Eleven corps entered the competition in Dordrecht last Saturday and presented their shows in front of a completely sold-out stand with a very enthusiastic audience. The international judging team had to rank and rate in four classes: Open Class, A-Class, Marching Percussion Class and Cadet Class.
Jubal from Dordrecht took top honors in the Open Class with a powerful show called 'A Capella'. Juliana from Middelburg performed very well and surprised a lot of people with their level. Federatieband added a color guard group to their corps, which looks really great.
In A-Class Showband 75 from leidschendam and Jeugdshowband JFB Den Haag from The Hague had both entertaining programs. Showband 75 performed the musical book very well, while JFB has some really nice visual gimmicks. In the Marching Percussion Class, Harpe Davids was the only competitor. They have a new show called 'Tarzan Meets Lion King'.
The Cadet Class was big tonight, with five competing units. Showband Kids from Leidschendam were the surprise here, with a first appearance on a DCE show. They scored big on all captions, and won the Cadet Class. Jong Jubal from Dordrecht has a lot of members on the field and made the audience go wild with a huge company front. Johan Friso doesn't have a lot of members, but they really entertain and play some good and attractive music. Jong Avalance from Vlaardingen and Jong-Holland Junioren from Zwijndrecht came with some nice sounds and visuals as well. It's great to see these kids work so hard on the field!
