More Italian bands starting color guard
It seems that Italy has discovered color guard. The Millennium Marching Band from Verdello and Giuseppe Verdi from Lonate already have a guard, and two other Italian marching bands have announced that they will be setting up a guard group next year. European guard instructors are being asked to help with this.
The Chairman of the Italia Marching Show Bands (IMSB) has contacted Drum Corps Europe to ask whether there are any European color guard instructors who are willing to help the two bands develop their guard groups. Each of the new guards has about ten members from 12 to 20 years of age.
The intention is that the members will be taught the basic principles of color guard in the last weekend of January; with the possibility of another training weekend being organised in the spring. For the instructor, travel (by plane) to Italy and accommodation expenses will be provided. Experienced guard instructors can contact Drum Corps Europe, attaching an English CV which is as detailed as possible. DCE will forward these applications to the IMSB.
