DCF will start French competition in 2007
Drum Corps France intends to support its member corps with clinics and education. Several private clinics have been arranged for late 2005 and 2006, with the goal of improving the artistic and musical level of association members. In addition, DCF has organised a full slate of contests for the coming years.
DCF, in cooperation with Show and Marching Music, will host a clinic on Sunday, February 19, near Paris. Topics covered at the clinic will include brass, woodwind, color guard, percussion, M&M, drill, corps management and even a musical writing class. Jeff Moore, former caption head for the DCI Madison Scouts, will lead the clinic.
October 2006 will see the first Individual and Ensemble Contest sponsored by DCF, and in 2007 DCF intends to launch the Indoor Contests Circuit to initially include two regionals as well as a national finals. Also in 2007, DCF will be holding its first outdoor DCF Finals. A French judging panel is being assembled for the contest, with initial assistance from established marching circuits.
The same year, DCF's ambitious new schedule will include the reestablishment of the Music Festival for Marching Bands, with the goal of allowing foreign units to compete on stage alongside DCF members.
