Senators first at DCUK London show
Another hot weekend saw the Senators travel to East Molesey for the DCUK London show and take first place with a score of 76.0 amid difficult conditions and less than ideal preparation.
A lack of rehearsal sites meant the corps could only warm up and rehearse musical segments before performing a standstill run through at the nearby Sandown Racecourse before heading to the show venue to change and prepare for the competition.
Despite this and only a short warm up before taking the field, coupled with the scorching heat, the Senators performed a great show in the conditions and the corps were pleased with having overcome many obstacles over the weekend. Wins in Brass, Percussion, Visual and GE captions rounded off the day and the corps did perform a full marching repeat performance, despite the heat, to thank the fans who stayed behind again to watch.
The A-Class was topped by Southern Aurora. The Senators Juniors won Junior Class in their first show of the season. (Text: partly taken from senators.org.uk)
