Field Band Foundation presents 2005 Championships
The National Championships of the Field Band Foundation in South Africa have been announced. The event will take place at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane on October 1st.
The Field Band concept is based on the worldwide show band or drum corps movement. It has great appeal for youngsters. The Championship is the focus of all 3000 children taking part in the Foundation's activities countrywide. Each member auditions to qualify for the privilege of taking part, for them this is the culmination of the year's work. As project tool it serves as a goal towards which the members work over the year and then have their results judged by international judges. This ensures that the standards and quality of the project improves consistently and the aim remains excellence.
The National Championship is designed to inspire creative expression in a controlled situation. All should underline the Foundation's focus on excellence, self-confidence and the acquiring of skills.
