The board of Drum Corps Netherlands had long been looking to expand in order to achieve desired innovations and to professionalise matters further. So far, it had not succeeded in getting more people on board. DCE then decided to help its certified partner. The management of DCE will take over the administrative duties of DCN.
Drum Corps Europe would like to express its warm thanks to the board of DCN for the hard work that they have put into the Dutch drum corps activity. DCN chairman Kees Bourquin started the job in 2005 as a project manager working from DCE. “As DCE, we had jumped into a hole to boost European activity, and DCN had to expand the Dutch competition,” said DCE Chairman Marcel Matthijsse. “The men have put in a lot of hard work and put the DCN Finals on the map as an independent event.”
DCE will now see how the activity in mainland Europe can continue to grow and professionalise. Corps that have questions about the changes can of course contact DCE.
