Cadets members drop out after injury
Injuries have opened some holes in the The Cadets. In 2005, The Cadets are on the move. From 180 beats per minute, to 200 bpm, and even 224. What comes with fast is challenging and this spring training, the corps is coping with the injury bug.
Most at risk those who did not follow directions and suggestions for the winter and arrived overweight and out of shape. Pulling around an extra 20 pounds when one has been in front of a computer for 6 months can be a daunting task. To date, one tuba headed home for injury, one mello resigned after the first weekend of rehearsals, two snares never made it to camp due to aggravated stress fractures from prior years, and two tom players are nursing Achilles issues.
In line with this, The Cadets are looking for two tuba players with experience and some reasonable level of athleticism, one second mello-phone with experience, and the possibility of an excellent snare drummer. In addition, the Cadets would like to build a list of those who might be available to come in and fill spots. Any and all high quality bass players would be required.
To fill the hole the fee for the summer would be $1500.00 and the corps would need you as soon as possible. If you are interested, write to Mike Pfeil at mpfeil@yea.org.
