Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps won the DCN Championships tonight in their home town. They scored a 81.20 in their final DCN performance of 2015. Juliana won 2nd place. Johan Friso from Middelburg became Junior Class champions.

In addition to a place in the European ranking, a score in the European Music Games will now also earn corps a bronze, silver or gold star. This means that participation in competitions of the EMG immediately leads to visible results.

The Reading Buccaneers were on top again as the world’s best all-age drum and bugle corps competed at the Drum Corps Associates World Championships over Labor Day Weekend in Rochester - New York.

The Kidsgrove Scouts have finished in sixth place at the DCA World Championships in Rochester. The corps scored 91.90, increasing both their score and placement compared to their DCA results in 2012.

After nine years of absence, Jong-Holland will be entering the DCE European Championships in Kerkrade again. The corps from Zwijndrecht - The Netherlands has signed up for the 2015 edition. “We feel ready to make a comeback now”, corps director Stephan van Nes stated.

Well we are Stateside! Since my last post we’ve been a very busy corps. A weekend rehearsal in the UK only four days ago now feels a long time ago because so much has happened.

Drum Corps Europe has started a crowdfunding campaign in order to keep the live webcast of the DCE European Championships going. Earlier this summer, DCE sounded the alarm about the costs of the popular webcast. Drum corps fans can help by sponsoring the webcast and buying airtime.

In 1990 the Southern Knights Drum & Bugle Corps from Brighton, England embarked on a three week trip to the USA to be the first European corps to compete at the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) World Championships which were held in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2015 they are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of this tour.

The second IMBA show of the season proved to be very interesting with all six IMBA groups in performance in Clonmel on Sunday at the Clonmel Rugby Club. The Clonmel Bluehawks topped the Premier Class.

The Diamond Cadets, the junior corps of the Blue Diamonds from Nienhagen, have decided to enter the DCE European Championships this year. It will be the first appearance of the German junior corps at DCE.

The Kidsgrove Scouts are leaving for the United States on Monday, where they will take part in a DCA contest and in the DCA Championships.

While the DCI World Championship Finals didn't officially start until Saturday evening, the sound of music was already filling the Indianapolis air by mid-morning as SoundSport arrived on Pan-Am Plaza. A row of bleachers was erected in the spacious lot and fans quickly filled the stands to cheer on eighteen of the best musical ensembles the young activity has to offer.

The season of close finishes amongst the four top corps was unlike anything DCI has ever witnessed, driving up attendance to record-breaking numbers at many shows. But when the smoke cleared, Blue Devils finished in a spot they’ve been 16 times before: 1st place.

Carolina Crown took first place with a score of 96.775 during the penultimate competition of the 2015 season. "Tonight’s performance was exactly what we wanted and exactly what we needed,” Crown drum major Ross Werner said.

DCI Executive Director and CEO Dan Acheson joined with Indianapolis mayor Greg Ballard and Visit Indy President and CEO Leonard Hoops this morning to announce a 10-year contract extension with the City of Indianapolis. The agreement will keep the DCI World Championships and headquarters offices in the city through 2028.

The Blue Devils vaulted into first place on the first day of competition at the DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown - Pennsylvania on Friday night. On the second night, Carolina Crown emerged victorious. Less than a point separates the top four.

It is still uncertain whether the webcast of the DCE European Championships will go ahead this year. The broadcast of the European Championships is getting more and more popular and professional every year, but it also costs a lot of time and money. That is why Drum Corps Europe must consider its continuation.

Vic Firth, founder of the Vic Firth Company, passed away on Sunday at the age of 85. His company has become the largest manufacturer of drum sticks and mallets.

For the first time since 2006, a new champion was crowned during the DCI Southeastern Championship in Atlanta on Saturday. With a record-setting 18,074 spectators in the audience, Carolina Crown (1st, 91.500) ascended to the top, finishing ahead of the Blue Devils (2nd, 91.475) by a mere 0.025 points.

The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps will not perform at the DCI Southeastern Championship in Atlanta today, due to a rapidly progressing, self-limited viral illness amongst the membership over the past 24 hours.

The Company Performance Ensemble has won the DCUK contest in Leicester. In the Open Class (Premier Class) the corps from Stanfree surpassed Kidsgrove Scouts.

The first Irish competition took place last Sunday in Arklow, Co.Wicklow, and it looks like we have a great season to look forward to in Ireland.

Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps from Dordrecht - The Netherlands left for the United States on Thursday for a 25 day tour and participation in Drum Corps International contests. It is the fourth time that the corps is making the trip.

The IMBA competition season begins today at 14.00 in Arklow Co.Wicklow. The first summer show, hosted by the Inbhear Mór Performance Ensemble, sees a strong line up of six corps competing.

Last Sunday Brianza Parade Band and Mosson Drum & Bugle Corps won the IMSB Championship in Lecco, in the Marching Band and Drum Corps category respectively.

The first full-time executive director of Drum Corps International, Donald L. Pesceone passed away the morning of Wednesday, 8th July. He was 75 years old.

Like in previous years, the DCE European Championships will once again have its own logo this year. Familiar features such as the European stars, the fresh green grass and of course the DCE logo will return, but the the image is slightly different and a fresh take on previous years.

This weekend saw two shows in the European Music Games series. Juliana topped the show in Leeuwarden - The Netherlands, while the Starriders won the contest in Rastede - Germany.

Drum Corps Europe and Color Guard Netherlands have launched the new Video Vault. The new version adds a lot of new functionality to the video platform, and loads pages and videos much faster. The Video Vault is also optimised for mobile use.

With the Drum Corps International tour well underway in the United States, another group, Blue Devils International, is preparing to take the stage in Europe. The group's members landed in Frankfurt, Germany on Tuesday to commence a 28-day tour that will take them to five different countries.

The Video Vault, the video platform by Drum Corps Europe and Color Guard Netherlands, will see a new version soon. The platform will get a new design, and will be faster and more user friendly, especially on mobile devices.

The 2015 Drum Corps International Tour officially kicked off on Wednesday with six corps debuting their competitive productions at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Cadets kicked off the season with a score of 69.850 resulting in a first-place finish.
