The 2017 season of Indoor Music Games kicks off in Dublin on 18th Feb 2017. This event will incorporate IMG/Soundsport and WinterGuard contests on the same day.

The News Top 50 is a great way to look back at 2016 and reminiscence about the most memorable things that have happened over the past year.

21 corps representing five countries appear on the list published by DCE today.

High Cross Cadets are delighted to announce that they will march in competition in 2017, which will be the first time a Drum Corps from Christchurch has competed since 2001.

The registration for the DCE European Championships 2017 will close on November 30th.

Drum Corps Europe is fully committed to “video on demand” from this year onwards. The DVDs of the DCE Championships will be replaced by the online video platform with unlimited access to the DCE video archive.

Board members Hans Wansink and Marco Janssen will be leaving the board of Drum Corps Europe. Both were active in the organisation for many years.

Almost 50 drum corps fans contributed towards the running costs of the webcast, which made it possible for Drum Corps Europe to once again provide the service free of charge.

The registration for both the DCE European Championships 2017 and the Indoor Music Games (including SoundSport) 2017 has now opened. 

Juliana from Middelburg will host the Dutch leg of the Indoor Music Games and SoundSport series next year, which will be held on Saturday the 22nd of April. The Corps will take over the organisation of the show from Drum Corps Europe.

Preparations for the 2017 IMG SoundSport series are now well underway as bands and corps look towards next season. Concord Youth Music from Sheffield, South Yorkshire have announced their intention to enter the IMG section of The Forest of Dean show next year.

The way in which Drum Corps Europe reports on news is set to change. DCE will be putting a stronger focus on social media and instantly sharing drum corps news through Facebook and Twitter.

Last Saturday, 30 performances of European corps could be seen live in the Parkstad Limburg Stadium. Now you can watch the shows on the DCE Video Vault, almost all videos have been posted online.

The Company and Jong Jubal are the wDCE European champions of 2016. Over 2,000 visitors were treated to 21 fantastic corps with a total of 33 show performances.

Today is the drum corps day of the year: the DCE Championships in Kerkrade - The Netherlands. Didn't pre-order any tickets online? No problem, you can still buy tickets for the DCE European Championships at the ticket office of the stadium. So do come to Kerkrade, you'll regret it if you don't!

DCE will broadcast this year's Championships live on the internet. The webcast can be watched free of charge, however DCE hopes that fans will support the webcast by becoming a patron.

Drum Corps Europe are pleased to announce the dates for the 2017 IMG SoundSport shows. Following a successful inaugural season last year, the series will again be held across four European countries and will feature two shows in England for the first time.

At this year's DCE Prelims two extra commentaries will be given to the corps. Marie Czapinski and Dave Cooksey have agreed to provide educational tapes (not judging tapes) to the participating units.

Drum Corps World publisher Steve will be attending the DCE European Championship this Saturday in Kerkrade - The Netherlands. He will be writing reports on the event and two the American staff photographers, Richard Wersinger and Chris Maher, will be there to shoot along the sidelines.

Jo Weerts is the new contest director for Drum Corps Europe and Drum Corps Netherlands. He succeeds Kees Kopmels, who stepped down last year after 15 seasons.

The order of performances for the Premier Class Prelims and Junior Class Finals this Saturday has been published, based on this season's results at the European Music Games. The list is as follows.

The Company are the 2016 Drum Corps United Kingdom Open Class Champions. The performance ensemble scored 85.40 points in Widnes on Saturday and also won all caption awards. The Concord Allstars are DCUK Junior Class Champions.

This year, for the first time in its history, there will be a live webcast of the DCUK Finals, free of charge. The webcast will be available through the UK Fan Network website.

Jubal and Jong Jubal were crowned Dutch champions in Dordrecht on Saturday. It was the fourth time in a row that Jubal took home the title. In addition, the corps won awards in all but two captions.

Like in previous years, the DCE Championships will have its own logo. Peter Franken has produced a new and fresh design, without leaving the style that distinguishes the championships' logos since 2008.

Vikings Drum Corps are the Irish champions again after their win in Dalymount Park, Dublin on Saturday.

After being contacted in March 2016, the final edits of the brand new Suzuki surprise advert that Thurrock Marching Brass members have worked on with the legendary dynamic duo Ant & Dec is very close to being released.

The drum corps month of the year started with a big bang on Saturday. In front of a full stand in Hamelin, the Starriders, Blue Bandits and Jong Beatrix won the German Open.

Some days ago the Kidsgrove Scouts have made an important announcement: three members of the Blue Devils A (Concord, CA) will fly from the USA to Kidsgrove in order to help the Scouts during the Finals week, on the road to the DCE European Championship (Kerkrade, September 24^th).

Kadoudal has just finished their Summer Camp which was held in their home town Quiberon between 22nd and 25th August. The camp was run by international instructors.

Following the success of the DrumLine Battle held at the 2015 British Drum Corps Championships, Drum Corps United Kingdom have announced that for the 2016 Championships the event will be expanded to enable double the number of performing teams to take part.

Celtic Crusaders were the stand-out performance of the day. Their 2016 production “On a String” had much advanced since the Arklow contest and scored 53.70.

The second half of the Irish season will begin on Sunday in Downs GAA club in Mullingar. It promises to be a very close contest considering that less than three points separated all four corps after the Arklow contest in July.

Brianza Parade Band from Veduggio con Colzano has plans to enter the arena of indoor winds, indoor percussion and winter guard of Color Guard Netherlands as part of a big process of growth. Therefore Brianza is looking for a professional tech and choreographer for the color guard section.

A Sunday afternoon in July, Leicester (home of the Premier League champions), Saffron Lane, an iconic venue and a glorious sun drenched summers day could only mean one thing. Yep that’s right. It must be a Drum Corps show in the Midlands to bring the curtain down the the first half of the DCUK season before the summer break.

The Irish season got underway in Arklow Co.Wicklow on Saturday July 16th. Four corps took part in in the first competition in Arklow Celtic football club.

Drum Corps Netherlands has committed to continue the show in Huizen until 2020. The organisation signed a contract for four additional years at the Huizen show.

Unity from Mosson/Besana have won the title in the Premier Class at the Italian championships in Lecco last Saturday. The newly crowned champion scored 89.5 points.

The German Open will be starting earlier than usual this year. The earlier time is necessary due to the large number of participants.

On Sunday 3rd July DCUK returned to the Kingfield Stadium in Woking, Surrey for the second contest of the 2016 UK season (the fifth in the European Music Games "tour"). The number of competing units was down on last years event (which hosted the Blue Devils International Corps - was that a year ago already!) but the level of performance by those that did attend was no less intense.

The Company has topped the second DCUK show of the season in Woking on Sunday. Jubal maintains its lead in the European Premier Class ranking.
