Thousands of viewers for DCE webcast
The internet broadcast of the DCE European Championships attracted a large number of viewers. The link for the webcast was clicked 7,000 times, an increase of approximately 70% compared to last year.
As always, the webcast was available free of charge to all those who were unable to attend the European Championships live. The popularity of the webcast is growing explosively. Last year, there was an 80% increase in viewers compared to the year before.
Most viewers come from Europe and the United States, but there are also viewers from Canada, Thailand, Indonesia, and even viewers from countries such as Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar showed an interest for the European drum corps event.
For the first time, live interviews on the field and videos about the preparations of various corps were added to the webcast, made by Rob Beeren and Willem Buijs. Many viewers gave Drum Corps Europe positive feedback about this.
"Through the webcast, we want to give people a taste of what the atmosphere of the event is really like," stated webcast team member Marco Janssen. "Initially, the webcast experienced a few glitches, but thankfully these were quickly fixed. Many viewers expressed their thanks at being able to follow the event while they could not be there."
