Jack Meehan writes drum corps book
There is a new book on the market about the experiences of a drum corps member and instructor from 1950 to 2010. The book was written by Jack Meehan, entitled 'Space Music'. It is available from Amazon.
Meehan's book contains detailed descriptions of what he has experienced in the past 60 years in drum corps. The story begins in 1950 when, aged eight, he first hears the sound of an outdoor brass ensemble. "I slipped between a few people to see what was making all the wonderful sounds I was hearing. As I stepped through the crowd, off the curb, amd into the street, I found muself only inches away from the marching members of the Kingsmen Drum & Bugle Corps."
The following chapters of the 264-page book, the drum corps veteran talks about his time with The Kingsmen, Skyliners, Troopers, 27th Lancers, Santa Clara Vanguard and of course the Blue Devils, where he worked as an instructor for many years.
The book is available from the American Amazon.com. Buyers who have posted reviews about 'Space Music' are very enthusiastic. The price of the book is $ 14.39 plus postage and packaging.
