Drill Magic re-launch takes off in a big way
Originally launched in 1997, Drill Magic is back due to increased demand. Since its re-launch in mid February users from all over the UK, Europe and the USA have downloaded and registered for this completely free drill writing program written by Paul 'Bish' Bishop.
Now retired from marching after 31 years, Bish continues to support the banding activity from his PC at home in Northampton in the UK. Bish marched with a number of bands including Kettering Redcoats, The Buccaneers, The Phantom Knights and more recently Distant Thunder in positions from Drum Major, baritone & contrabass player to Wind Instructor & Musical Arranger.
As well as Drill Magic, Bish offers a free music engraving service converting old paper scores to professional style computer engravings, often transposing and arranging these scores for individual Corps abilities. Corps using his scores have had success in both the UK and Europe.
The program is available to download free from Bishs' website www.musicengraver.org. The program will continue to be developed in Bish spare time, until Microsoft offers him a contract (in his dreams!). To help with future development Bish would be grateful for feedback from people who have used the program particularly if they have had any problems or have any ideas for future releases. He can be contacted via his website.
