This year, the DCE European Championships can count on strong support from their sponsors. Who are these companies who are supporting our hobby so enthusiastically? Guard Equipment and Rob-rotex and Sabian introduce themselves.
GUARD EQUIPMENT
Guard equipment provides all necessary equipment and accessories for Colorguard, Majorette and Twirl, but also for the drum band, fanfare, harmony, stage band and orchestras. From shoes to sabres, and from flags and rifles to uniforms for percussion groups, the company has a range of products and is therefore happy to present itself at the DCE European Championships.
"DCE is a good target group for us, there are associations there who can be useful to us, and more importantly, we can be useful to them," says Karla from Guard Equipment. "We can gain new contacts, and support / staff / parents can contact us for questions or information." Guard Equipment has a stall at the marketplace in front of the Parkstad Limburg Stadium.
ROB-ROTEX
Corps or members who are looking for fun, original lettering on corps jackets or t-shirts can go to the Rob-rotex stall. A young and creative company which creates personal imprints (text and/or image) on textiles. The music world is not an unknown territory for this company. "We have been familiar with creative arrangements within the various drum corps for many years, and this creativity is our distinctive feature," says Rob Rotex, explaining the presence of his company at the DCE European Championships.
SABIAN
SABIAN is all about designing and creating cymbals and sounds that are right for you. Known as the 'modern, innovative cymbal maker with traditional roots,' SABIAN combine expertise and craftsmanship with creative vision, to design award-winning cymbals that make SABIAN the choice of such leading drummers as Chad Smith, Jack DeJohnette, Mike Portnoy, Dave Weckl, and Neil Peart, as well as percussion greats Evelyn Glennie DBE, Bob Becker, Ney Rosauro, Li Biao, Dennis DeLucia and Ralph Peterson, among many others around the world.
SABIAN was founded in late 1981, when one of the world's great names in cymbal making, Bob 'Sabian' decided drummers deserve better cymbals. Not happy with the quality, sound and relevance of cymbals made at that time, he launched SABIAN. Located in the small eastern Canadian village of Meductic, New Brunswick, SABIAN - most notably The Vault, where cymbals are designed - has since become the global centre for cymbal and sound innovation. SABIAN's ongoing program of discovery and design means today's drummers and percussionists have a larger-than-ever selection of interesting and innovative cymbals to choose from, with models ranging from vintage to modern, from highly personalized to whatever you need.
SABIAN is a 'team'... a 'family', with many members - a growing number with over 20+ years experience - absolute masters of their craft. Even the 'SABIAN' name is family, comprised of the first two letters from the names of each of Bob's three children - SA (Sally), BI (Billy), AN (Andy). Today, Andy is the president of SABIAN, with Bob serving as chairman. And those rings appearing in the SABIAN logo? They represent the grooves cut into the surface of a cymbal.
'Because sounds matters' you not only discover a wide range of cymbals and percussion pieces amongst the SABIAN product range but you can also recognize that SABIAN innovation is all about creating new sounds that matter. There are hundreds of models, both traditional and innovative, producing vintage and modern sounds for every style of drummer and percussionist.
Today, with offices and depots dotted around the globe and distribution to approximately 120 countries, SABIAN is what Bob 'Sabian' and his family intended. But that is just the start. Ask why SABIAN exists, the answer is easier than ever: 'Because Sound Matters.'
SABIAN is not only committed to making the best and most innovative cymbals in the world but also supporting the musicians and activities that foster the inspiration for today's and tomorrow's players, ensuring that traditions are continued and developed for those here now and in the future. Marching percussion remains one of the percussion world's foremost activities and SABIAN has been at the forefront of supporting this activity right from its inception in 1981. As Drum Corps activity grows significantly beyond the shores of North America, SABIAN's support is growing with it, endorsing the leading European ensembles and attending many marching events. SABIAN is proud to be a sponsor of the DCE Championships.
