DCE Championships webcast was big success
The live webcast of the DCE European Championships 2009 has been watched by thousands of people. There was a lot of interest in the internet broadcast, especially from the United States.
The webcast was accessed more than 4000 times, which totals over 2700 viewing hours. That is an increase of up to 80% compared to DCE's pilot broadcast last year. During the webcast, a live commentary on the shows occurred on various forums, including the forums of Drum Corps Planet.
PR manager Dennis Naaktgeboren is pleased with the success. "The webcast makes the European drum corps more visible to other parts of the world. We have received a great response to the webcast, especially from the United States."
The transmission quality was better than it was last year, thanks to the collaboration with a more professional webcast provider. The broadcast continued to be free of charge and ad free for viewers. "It is not our intention to add many bells and whistles to it in the future" said Naaktgeboren. "People should consider it as a little added extra for those who can't be live at the Championships."
