Blue Saints return to active competitive status
The Blue Saints Drum & Bugle Corps will return to the DCI competition. Drum Corps International approved the return of the Canadian corps last Friday.
The Blue Saints from Sudbury - Ontario announce their return to the competitive circuit in 2009 after a 2 year hiatus. As Canada's oldest and continuously active drum corps, the Blue Saints have a rich history of entertaining audiences since 1952 and are pleased to be on the field once again.
The corps is proud to represent the Greater Sudbury area, both at home and abroad. This year's production is appropriately entitled 'Aurora Borealis' in reference to the numerous hues that brighten the night skies on the 46th parallel.
Using selections from the well known Cirque du Soleil, the corps will draw upon the fast paces and unparalleled movements that have made this production famous world wide. The repertoire this year features award winning composer Benoît Jutras and starts with the rhythmic pulse of the opener 'Incantation', followed by the ballad 'Shadowplay', closing with 'Ninkou Latora'.
