Blue Devils top San Antonio contest

Carolina Crown came in third with a score of 90.025, followed by The Cadets (88.725), The Bluecoats (86.650) and Santa Clara Vanguard (86.425). For the first time, DCI had double judging panels on the Effect captions.
Twelve corps had to qualify in the afternoon prelims in order to proceed to the finals comnpetition. The Boston Crusaders, The Blue Stars, The Glassmen and The Crossmen qualified.
