DCE judges say goodbye to cassette tapes
As from this year, the Drum Corps Europe judging team will no longer be working with cassette tapes. The introduction of a new system with digital voice recorders means a drastic change in processing judges' comments.
The DCE judges will be working with digital voice recorders. This not only means a change for the judges themselves, but also for the organisation and the corps. As from now, the audio files will be submitted to the instructors digitally.
Instructors who previously came to collect their cassette tapes, can now report to the helpdesk with a digital audio player. A USB connection is then used to copy the relevant file to the audio player. The files are offered in .WAV format (other formats are being investigated at this moment).
As Drum Corps Netherlands uses DCE's facilities, this new procedure will be implemented for all DCN contests, starting with the DCN contest on Saturday 19th May in The Hague.
