DIO Drum & Bugle Corps goes inactive
DIO Drum & Bugle Corps from Dordrecht - The Netherlands have decided to go inactive after calling a member meeting. In spite of the valiant efforts in previous years, new and old members have not succeeded in keeping their heads above water.
DIO Chairman M.H. Beekhuis states: "It is a very difficult time for drum corps to keep members. In spite of the positive institution provided by DIO, it has not succeeded bring about this." DIO started as an 'all girl band'.
In the late 90s, the corps changed to 'drum & bugle corps' and males were also accepted as a member. StuDIO One is currently competing in the Dutch winterguard activity. The group will go on until the end of the winterguard season.
