Concord continue big band style
Concord Drum & Bugle Corps have announced details of their 2007 main show programme. The show follows on from the recently successful 'big band swing' productions with a similar style for 2007. The new show production is called 'Diamonds and Divas'.
With 'Diamonds and Divas', Concord presents a show themed upon some of the greatest female performers of the twentieth century in a programme of music ideally suited to the Concord style.
'Don't Rain On My Parade' is Barbra Streisand's classic show-stopper from "Funny Girl" (1968). It will set the tone with punchy rhythms off the line and a scorching brass opening.
'Autumn Leaves' is retained from last year but totally re-arranged and remodelled to provide a quieter ballad introduction building to a full-scale production number.
'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend' was originally performed by Marilyn Monroe in the 1953 film'"Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. This version is inspired by the 2001 'Moulin Rouge. interpretation by Nicole Kidman. (Source: dcuk.org.uk)
