A change in method of registration for DCE forums
New registrations for drumcorpstalk.com, the Drum Corps Europe forums, will be manually checked from now on. DCE hopes this will help to keep 'spammers' out of the forum.
Those who previously registered for the 'European drum corps community' received a link via e-mail. Registration was completed by clicking on the link. From now on there will be a manual check before new registrations are activated.
"Every week we had visits from spammers who became members of drumcorpstalk.com in order to leave spam messages behind", explains Marco Janssen from DCE. "We assume that forum visitors are not particularly interested in offers of Viagra, American mortgages and Rolex watches, and we think we have now filtered this out."
In practice the change means that visitors who register to be a member of drumcorpstalk.com will have to wait a bit longer before their registration is activated. They will be informed of this via e-mail.
