Northern Star tops BYBA Championships
Northern Star took the Division 1 title of the BYBA Championships yesterday in Coventry. A score of 915 points was attained by the DCE runner-up in the Butts Park Arena.
The top three of Division 1 were three corps who also took part in the DCE Championships two weeks ago - Northern Star, 6th Hove Scouts and Distant Thunder. 6th Hove took silver with 847 points and Distant Thunder came third with 798 points.
A large number of corps and bands competed with each other in Coventry. In Division 2, the only 'school band' to take part, the Trinity School Show Band, was able to stay one step ahead of the competition. The Division 3 title went to the Cheshire Cadets and Division 4 was won by the 1st Ibstock Scouts. The 11th Northampton BB Juniors took gold in the Cadet Class.
