Rich played baritone for the Sunrisers in 1998. After honing his playing skills as a trombonist with the Rutgers University Jazz Ensemble, he was accepted as a member of the Cadets of Bergen County. Rich performed with the Cadets from 1999-2002, winning a DCI world championship in 2000 and was named baritone section leader in 2001.
After serving as horn sergeant for the Cadets in 2002, he went back to his DCA corps roots by joining the Bushwackers as a member/tech in 2003 and named visual caption head in 2004.
Along with learning from some of the most prolific personalities in drum corps, he has had the pleasure of working with some of the top marching band programs in New Jersey. From 2001-2003 he taught the Bridgewater-Raritan marching band, helping them to their first State Championship in 2002. Currently, he works with the West Orange Marching Band.
