Showband USA reveals new program: Star Wars
The French percussion unit Showband USA from Hellemmes is pleased to announce the theme of the new show for the 2006 season: 'Star Wars Adventures'. With the same objective as the group's previous show ('Disney Wonders'), Showband USA has decided to please the audience again with well known music and more particularly this movie piece of work from the two trilogies.
In contact with arrangers from a big american university, Showband USA had the idea to join the musical richness of the theme with scenic play. To do this, René Verdière will take care of the scene decoration to get the atmosphere of this movie. Isabelle Eggermont, Benoît Sueur and Jérôme Capoen will take care of the music of the trilogies.
Moreover, numerous participants will share their competencies in multiple artistic aspects. This new challenge must be a success since it will be presented at the Color Guard Nederland (CGN) competition in the Marching Open Class, which will take place on March 25th, 2006.
The staff of Showband USA is confident for this project. Drum major Sandy Sueur: "A new step for the group that I am proud to lead. This show inspires our instructors, our musicians and our color guards. The movies allow the young members of the group to understand the atmosphere of the show and therefore to bring it to life. It is a real challenge for a French group to transcribe such a spirit in a drill with quality."
"Last year, the show 'Disney Wonders' has been appreciated very much, and was a real success. This year, we have a higher objective and I have full confidence in my musicians and my color guards. I also thank Vancore, our sponsor, who is very supportive."
