The Senators partner Sibelius Software
The Senators Drum & Bugle Corps from Eastleigh have announced they have entered into a strategic partnership with the software notation company Sibelius. Whilst performing at the Yamaha Expo in Milton Keynes, John Barron from Sibelius approached John McNamara (corps co-ordinator of the Senators) and muted the idea about the possibility of the corps moving its complete notation requirements over to the Sibelius brand.
At present the Senators design team use a range of different notation packages and John McNamara commented: "We have been in discussions as a staff for many months now about how we move forward our design process - we all have notation software, the problem we had is the difficulty in getting those software packages to talk to each other. After many weeks of talks we are now pleased to confirm that for the 2006 season and beyond the Senators will be using Sibelius 4 as the exclusive notation software of choice for the corps."
Tim Gardiner Brass Arranger commented that "Sibelius 4 offers the state of the art in notation software that will push our music creativity to new levels. The new software allows us to integrate all aspects of the music package perfectly and we can even distribute parts to members as soon as they are written via the web." As part of the package Sibelius will also be offering the design team training at their headquarters in Finsbury Park, London.
Jo McCulloch from Sibelius explains the reasonsing behind the partnership: "We have a strong branding in the marching band market, after John Barron had seen Senators fine representation of the drum corps activity at the Yamaha Expo, we felt confident that the Senators would be excellent ambassadors for our product. We are proud to be associated with the Senators who are a quality organisation."
