Beatrix Chairman: 'Further development for quality corps'
As the efforts revolving around the merger of Beatrix and Jong Beatrix have come to an end, the focus is now on the further development of the quality of both corps, says Chairman Gerard Eijlers on the website of the Beatrix Corps Association.
As the efforts revolving around the merger of Beatrix and Jong Beatrix have come to an end, the focus is now on the further development of the quality of both corps, says Chairman Gerard Eijlers on the website of the Beatrix Corps Association.
Previously, Beatrix Drum & Bugle Corps and junior corps Jong Beatrix were two separate associations. These merged some time ago, and a foundation has also been laid for the continuity of the association. Now that all this is over, the board, in consultation with members, programme committees and staff members, has determined the objectives for the coming years and raised the bar.
This applies not only to the summer, but also to the winter. The winter guards of Beatrix and Jong Beatrix have raised their standards, and the winter activities are broadened to include indoor percussion. "The staff and the members really wanted to present an indoor percussion unit", said Eijlers. "But, most importantly, they also wanted to further develop the musical quality of the members in order to give them a warm start for the summer season."
The summer programmes for 2013 have been announced internally. The details of the shows will be presented to the general public later.
