DrumSpirit and dINK are Flemish Vlamo champions
DrumSpirit Percussion Ensemble and Drumband dINK are the champions of the 2012 Vlamo show contest. The contest was held in Wevelgem - Belgium on Sunday.
DrumSpirit from Dadizele seized the title of the Championship Division with a score of 89.2%. The Beverly Drumband from Beveren, who were promoted to the Championship Division this year, were able to secure second place (score of 86.3%) with their Michael Jackson show. Showkorps WIK from Ostend came third with their Queen show (score of 84.6%).
In the Star Division, dINK from Blankenberge were awarded the title of champions with a score of 78.9% (2.1 penalty points as a result of exceeding the time limit). Cadence from Kaulille scored 78.45% with 4.75 penalty points as a result of exceeding the time limit and ended up in second place.
It was an international edition of the Vlamo contest. As well as the Flemish participants, groups from the Netherlands (DINDUA, from Oldekerk, and Corio from Heerlen), Wallonia (Royal Fasam Orchestra from Le Bizet) and France (Jong Auranja from Haudricourt) also appeared on the floor (in exhibition).
