Publish Date: 09 Oct 2012 - 5948 views

The pinnacle of the 2012 season concluded last Sunday with the BYBA National Championships. In Division 1, 37th Kingswood took 1st place followed by East Coast Elite in 2nd place and Beeches PE in 3rd place.

The BYBA event was held once again at Keys Park Stadium, Hednesford Town Football Club in Cannock. Derby Midshipmen took 1st place in the Associate Division as the only unit in competition in their division on the day. Although both Division 1 and Associate are judged by the same criteria and are both printed on 1 summary sheet, placings and caption wins are split into the separate divisions allowing both divisions to compare scores across the board.

Cadence took a 1st place win in Division 2, followed by Warwick Showband 2nd place, Revolution Show Corps in 3rd place, Lanesfield BB/GB in 4th place, Doncaster Danum in 5th, The Pacemakers in 6th and Trinity SSB in 7th place.

Division 3 saw 4th Uckfield take 1st place, with Stafford Lancers taking 2nd place followed by Liberty Drum Corps in 3rd place, The Comets in 4th Place, Stafford Brigades in 5th, Halifax BB/GBl in 6th place. Becket School had to withdraw due to circumstances beyond their control. 37th Kingswood Cadets took 1st place in Cadets, followed by Thurrock Marching Brass in 2nd place and Warwick Juniors in 3rd place.

Full recaps have been uploaded to www.byba.org.uk.
