Succesful clinic for European judges
On April 23 and April 24, European judes had a chance to attend a judges training with DCI judge Bob Thomas. The training was initiated by Drum Corps Europe and took place in Wemeldinge - The Netherlands. 13 European judges from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium attended the training.
During the clinic, several aspects regarding judging drum corps were discussed, like the criteria reference scale, ranking & rating, the philosophy behind tape comments, General Effect, positioning of field judges, and the Ensemble captions. On Saturday night, the judges had the opportunity to put the clinic topics into practice at a preview event of Juliana Drum & Bugle Corps. The judging tapes of this evening were discussed on Sunday.
After the weekend, all judges agreeed that it was a very useful training. Bob Thomas was also very pleased with the input of all judges during the training. Future sessions are in the works.
