Number of DCW subscribers quadrupled
Since the start of the free online editions of Drum Corps World, the number of subscribers of the magazine has quadrupled. Early last year, Drum Corps World stopped its printed version of the magazine and continued online.
When the first online edition came out in May 2011, between 6000 and 7000 people had signed up for a subscription. Publisher Steve Vickers has announced that in the past eight months, the number has increased to nearly 25,000. Vickers hopes that by the end of this year the number of subscriptions will reach 30,000 and would ask everyone to advertise the magazine on Facebook.
The move from paper to the free web and mobile variant appears to have been a good one. The printed magazine only had 1000 subscribers in the end. Drum corps fans can subscribe free of charge at www.high-velocity-media.com.
